I love this bike, but having built my own frame at Dave Yates' frame building course I now realise that the Dave Russell is the wrong shape for me. Whenever I ride it now it just feels wrong, so I'm going to clear the way for other projects.

It's a great bike, light, fast, responsive and stiff. It was built originally for racing criteriums, so it has a higher than usual bottom bracket and short wheelbase. It's a real "Q" bike since it looks old and pedestrian, but has real zip.
The rear end has been spread to take a 130mm hub, so if you wanted to rebuild it as a geared bike it would take a modern 10 speed gruppo with no modifications.

    Spec is as follows:
Frame and forks: Reynolds 531c Approx 24" seat tube, pretty much a "square" frame. Nicely lugged with windowed long point lugs and investment cast crown. Angles are approx 74 deg head and 72 deg seat. Twin bottle cage mounts, mudguard mounts (modified mudguards supplied). There are a few chips here and there, but generally this is a good clean frame. It was resprayed about 3 years ago and there were no problems then and I haven't noticed any problems since.

Transmission: Campagnolo chainset (possibly Croce d'Aune) running a 48t chainring. A 50t chainring is also available for an extra £5. SRAM 3/32nd PC48 chain with quicklink. On-one sprocket (19t). GoldTec pewter hub double fixed. Bike will come with a pair of Miche sprocket carriers and 17t and 18t Miche sprockets. Chain line is perfect. Bottom bracket is 111mm Campagnolo sealed, hollow axle.

Brakes: Tektro black calipers, Cane Creek levers.

Handlebars: Cinelli "maes" type bends with Charge brown "leather look" bar tape. 42cm width.
Stem is currently a Cinelli 90mm but can be swapped to one of four lengths to suit (130, 135, 140mm).

Seatpin is a simple alloy laidback, no saddle supplied, although I'll add a simple black lightweight saddle for test rides.

Wheels: Rear wheel is 36h GoldTec double fixed in pewter laced 3x to black Mavic Open Sport with DT double butted spokes. It's a new wheel and has little wear.
Front wheel is either unknown 36h Campag on silver MA2 laced 3x with DT double butted spokes - this wheel is pretty worn.
    or for £50 extra
Shimano DH-3N30 hub dynamo 36h laced 3x to black Mavic Open Sport with DT double butted spokes. Again, a new wheel with very little wear.

The bike will come with tyres and tubes, currently Michelin Axial Dynamics.
This is a complete ready to ride bike needing only a saddle and pedals.

Pics are not up to date. I'll shoot some more over the next few days.

Price £600 with standard front wheel
    £650 with dynamo hub

e-mail me: a dot ball at nhm dot ac dot uk if you are interested. This is for sale elsewhere as well.

I can move this bike up to central London for anyone who wants to test ride it.
I'd rather not post it, but I will if required, at the buyers expense.
Payment by direct cash transfer between bank accounts.
