Right now, I am completely fascinated by prime numbers, and the related theorems. In that respect I've come across Euclid already, but only in his demonstration that there are an infinite number of primes.
So to answer your question more specifically Tommy, I suppose that leads me to be interested in analysis or analytic number theory. for the moment at least!
Thanks for the offer, I will send you a message once I've delved a bit further into this foundation maths textbook. As of yet I haven't really found an 'application' for my interest, beyond some interesting relations between the spread of prime numbers and the spread of other things in the real world.
Most of my energy this year has been put into investigating the flaws of my subject and degree. Citygent, you are most certainly not alone in your dissatisfaction. Just to take a wild guess I'm going to say you're studying in one of the colleges of UAL, simply because they have more students than all other arts colleges in london combined. They came LAST in the NSS last year, with one of the lowest scores ever achieved.
This is due to a number of factors that I won't bother going through here.
wow, thanks guys. Lots of helpful information.
