Not polo related but Manc music related - the photographer Tim Sinclair recently recalled in Grafik magazine how in 1983 he was in the Haçienda and came back from the gents to find Bernard Sumner (of New Order) sitting in his chair chatting up his girlfriend. Sumner gets up and they get talking.
Sinclair: "So what are you up to nowadays?"
Sumner (nods to the sound system): This is our new single. It's called Blue Monday"
Sinclair: "Fucking hell. It's a bit disco."
