went there, enjoyed the racing, lot of waiting about between races and then i really needed a warm up before the last scratch and didnt get up to speed in time and spent the first (and only for me) 10 laps dangling off the back.
was good fun, need more speed, race practice and fitness though.

Yep, good racing today, and good quality fields. A few shaky moments in both categories - I think down to people being a bit rusty on their trackcraft after winter.
Ed - the meeting was pretty slick tbh, there wasn't any time wasted between races, I think that's about as slick as these things get. I think the balance was about right, just enough time to recover in between races. Sometimes you might have a chance for a few laps before the last race but rarely. If you really need a warm up, consider bringing some rollers? A few people were on them today.

sorry that wasn't meant to be a complaint, more of an observation as a novice to these type of things.
every event moved seemlesly into the next and it was very well organised, it was just the different catagories of riders they had to get through left me with a bit more waiting about than i had really anticipated.
and the pace in the final race knocked me for six!

Me too by that point! Lack of fitness showing!

I think it should be pointed out that JC was shifting pretty damn well yesterday!! Good stuffs especially in his lone effort for 3 laps in the "dash".... Laughing a lot when he got told off for celebrating across the line :-)

Christ racing with the A's really is hard. My lack of fitness was exposed badly but I shall stick with it. I have a lovely tan at least :)
I woke up in the night with my leg cramping up, it was agony -

i see they awarded points for the first omnium again this year. shame they don't do this for every meeting, but i gather it's quite costly to do so..?

It was a nice afternoon in the sunshine and it was good to have some spectators in the grandstands also.
For me, Solly and JC were the heroes of the day!

Cheers. Wasn't feeling top notch, but managed to make the best of everything today. 6 Days until the next open meeting, Rollapaluza CC's round of the Open Season races - 1st May. Track League's on now too for those who've been living under a rock.

What'd they get up to? I want full race breakdown.
No slouch on the rollers either.
