  • Hey Tristan, why not put a reminder on your phone - 6pm, Wednesdays, every Wednesday! Hope to see you there next week. ;)

  • everyone should do that

  • Fuck it Tristan, why not just tattoo it on your other palm

  • Hahahah!
    Even better

  • Fuck it Tristan, why not just tattoo it on your other palm

Ahahahahahah that just made my day!

  • b e a utiful, see you all next week!

  • Been busy this weekend...
#2 polo bike frame - 2" shortened chainstays, shortened and lower-angled seatstays, BMX dropouts, 4" shortened seat-tube, new lower toptube, shorter wheelbase, hardcore(t).
Should have it finished in time for polo on Wednesday as long as parts arrive from Velosolo in time. Can't wait to try it out.

  • that is awesome! hope it rides well.

velosolo delivery is usually really fast

  • Cheers Phil. I'm hoping it hasn't been a huge waste of time. I've got new one-piece crank and a tiny 28t 1/8" BMX chainring to go on it but that's useless until the 17t bolt-on cog arrives from Velo. If it doesn't come in time, I'll just use the old gearing for this week. Your new roadbike is looking proper tasty, by the way.

  • ha!
beast - good effort man on the DIY frame alteration!

  • Love that disc conversion. Been designing something similar myself - watch this space. Not sure about the 20" wheels tho'.

  • Job done...

need to get makin my mallet!

    polo is 6pm tonight yes?

  • Yeah 6 pm tonight. I'm after a pole too

  • No polo for me tonight. Uni work calls. only two more weeks though !

  • Sweeet. No Ed tonight either but it's a sunny day and polo's afoot. Wicked.

Gav, you coming out to play?

No spare pole unfortunately but have mallet you can borrow.

  • Matt remember cones and balls!! And miche. Cheers

  • Ja for sure, no biggy

  • can't make it either due to moving flat.

  • "Are you pissed, John?" was Matt's comment as I crashed inexplicably for about the sixth (or was it more like tenth?)time at polo tonight. Twitchy steering, short wheelbase frame is gonna take a bit of gettin' used to, I think!! Still, it shows promise for it's first time out and I suppose that's the trade-off for that level of maneuverability. I think maybe I'm not as good as the bike, more practice required. Can't really blame the bike for the spectacular superman endo over the handlebars, that was just me being a spaz. At least it wasn't in front of a huge crowd at the National Championships tho, just a few teenagers playing footy.

  • No shame in an in-game endo.
Would be a shame if you ended up needing more rake on the forks though. Sure you'll get used to it

  • Cheers, Matt
It's not about rake though, as long as you've got enough trail.
Check out this guy's experiments with zero-rake motorcycle chassis design. He's a proper genius and I could only hope to understand half of what he's on about. The pics speak for themselves though.

I think the bike is worth persevering with, as you say, cos I haven't altered the steering angle, only the wheelbase. I'm just not yet good enough to take advantage of its potential.
