Help, volcano, stuck in Europe

I doubt I would choose the coach option, but then I'm unlikely to be travelling as part of a large group. If I were doing something like that, I wouldn't want to pass up the opportunity to explore the local culture a little bit. They'll pass right through it non stop, which sounds shit. The problem is focussing too heavily on one destination instead of just trying to get a reasonable distance each day. We rush past life too fast these days.
