Had one the vintage foffas come into the workshop I work in the other day and was surprised that they guy paid out £350ish for it. He brought it in pretty soon after he bought it and the outer cables were cut to illogical lengths, wheels were out of true, etc, things that would have been picked up during a PDI in a good bike shop. No matter how many people are willing to pay out for bikes like this, everything going to a customer should have been put together with care and a good level of mechanical knowledge.
Dani, I'm glad you're offering such great customer service if there's a cock-up at your end but if you get it all right the first time you won't end up losing time and money! Better quality parts will make your life a lot easier too, haha.
The 'cock-up' has been dealt with, and fired, it's in this thread somewhere. You're totally right about the fact that these should be put together properly, it's dangerous otherwise. Thanks to this forum Dani was shown how bad the mechanic was, on many levels, and has done something about it. I doubt many companies would fire an employee because they were slated on a forum.

Just got an email telling me to look at this thread again...christ!
Some of you guys are hard to win over are you not?!
This thread seems to be pretty influential, so maybe try out his frame before ruining him. -

Hi all,
it's dani again. It seems to me that this thread has gone on for so long that those that have not been following it from the beginning have missed a few points which keep being raised.
Taki, I specifically tell all my customers to take advantage of their 12 months warranty and free service so I still don't understand why they would take the bike and pay money to get it serviced with you. Could you please remind the customer that in future he is more than welcome to bring to bike back to me for servicing.
As for the mechanical issues we have had in the past, please read the threads and you will see that we have made changes to progress forward.
As for upgrade options, we do actually have a range of different quality components to choose from but obviously not everyone has £500+ to spend on a complete bike and, as East End Images pointed out, not everyone is training for the Olympics. We are looking to change our base components and get a few more options in stock in the future but as you can appreciate these things take time. We can however supply any components requested by our clients if they are after something specific, even if we don't have them in stock. I'd be also more than happy to listen to other people's suggestions on what parts they would like us to stock.
Taki, perhaps the ashes are falling from the Scottish sky and getting to your head.. When you get back in London why don't you come down to my workshop for a proper Italian coffee and we could have a chat about your suggestions to help improve what we already do. As I have said and keep repeating I am always open for feedback.
And if I fail again you are welcome to burn me at the stake but certainly not before the free drinks or snacks though because Max wouldn't like it. but is he the real Max?
Hope to see you all at the opening of our shop on the 30th of April so you can come and check our stuff for yourself,
cheers,
dani

Allright guys,
loving the response and am looking forward to meeting the rest of you face to face.
It is a pity Star Fish and Billybob are afraid to let go of the past. I would have thought the offer of free beer and snacks may persuade them, but it looks like I might have to take them out for a movie with candle lit dinner and finishing the night off with glasses of aids..
For the rest of you you gotta remember we are 2 Italians and one Aussie so here is our selection of drinkable aids:
That's it for today,
enjoy the sunshine,
(the real) dani & co
