WOODRUP ROAD FRAME 1993 Columbus EL
    Seat Tube (ctt): 53cm (21in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 130mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
    Frame tubing: Columbus EL tubing
This Woodrup road frame built from the very light Columbus EL tubing is just exquisite. The chrome is in very good condition and the paint only has a small number of not very obtrusive marks. £195 SOLD

    RALEIGH TOURISTE TOURING FRAME 1988
    Seat Tube (ctt): 60cm (23.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 126mm
    Wheel size: 700C
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted main tubes
The Touriste was Raleigh’s second in line touring frame that I think shared the geometry of the more expensive Randonneur frame but was built with Reynolds 531 butted main tubes only rather than throughout. This will make a very good tourer. £85

RALEIGH PULSAR ROAD FRAME Aero tubing
    Seat Tube (ctt): 63.5cm (25in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 57cm (22.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 120mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 48mm)
    Seatpost size: 25.4mm
This is a Raleigh road frame built from aero section tubing in the 1980s - its in very good condition with paintwork which only has a few marks. It will make a very cool budget conversion. £59

FALCON BLACK DIAMOND ROAD FRAME late 1970s
    Seat Tube (ctt): 23in (58cm)
    Top Tube (ctc): 22.5in (57cm)
    Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: 27in or Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 65mm)
    Bottom bracket threads: English
    Seatpost size: 26.2mm
This is a sound Falcon Black Diamond road frame from the late 70s or early 80s. It will make an excellent beater bike or budget conversion. £29 SOLD

    HARRY O CYCLOCROSS FRAME
    Seat Tube (ctt): 55cm (21.5in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 54cm (21.25in)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
    Wheel size: Sprints/700C
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Frame tubing: Almost certainly Reynolds 531 double butted
I do not know anything of the builder of this frame but there is no doubting that it is really a rather well built cyclocross frame which could also be be easily used as a touring frame. It could also be used as a fixed or singlespeed conversion. £85

    CHAS ROBERTS ROAD FRAME c1979 20in 51cm
    Seat Tube (ctt) : 51cm (20in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 52cm (20.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 46mm)
    Bottom bracket threads: English
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a really lovely late 70s road frame from Chas Roberts with the engraved top eyes and fork crown. It has recently been repainted very nicely in red - there are one or two minor storage marks. Top quality small road frames such as this one are quite hard to find... Its is almost certainly built from Reynolds 531 double butted tubing though Chas did build with Columbus too. With horizontal dropouts it would make an easy singlespeed or fixed conversion. £195 SOLD

UNKNOWN MAKE ROAD FRAME 1970s Unused
    Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (22in)
    Rear dropout width: 125mm
Wheel size: Sprints or 700C (brake drop of approx 47mm)
    Bottom bracket threads: English
    Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 butted
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
This is a well built 1970s road frame which has apparently never been built up but not stored ideally. None of the rust is structural but it needs cleaning up around the rear long Campag dropouts. Fork crown is a rather beautiful Zeus 2000. The chrome on the fork crown has peeled off in places. But having said all that this really a very nice road frame and an excellent frame for singlespeed or fixed conversion. £69

    HIGGINS ROAD FRAME
    Seat Tube (ctt): 63.5cm (25in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 60cm (23.5in)
    Rear dropout width: 118mm
Wheel size: 27s or Sprints/700C (brake drop 60mm)
    Seatpost size: 27.0mm
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Higgins frames were built in South Norwood; they were best known for their trike and tandem frames but they also built some really nice road frames. They were specialists in fillet brazing frames to give a smooth continuous appearance - just take a look at how good the fillet brazing is on this frame. This frame I think dates from around the late 1950s. £125

    LEGNANO ROAD FRAME late 1970s
    Seat Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
    Top Tube (ctc): 58cm (23in)
    Rear dropout width: 122mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 45mm)
    Seatpost size: 26.6mm
This is a very sound Legnano road frame which has been nicely repainted and dates from the late 1970s. With horizontal dropouts it would make a very easy fixed or singlespeed conversion. £125

    EDDY MERCKX PROFESSIONAL 1987
    Seat Tube (ctc): 53cm
    Top Tube (ctc): 54cm
    Rear dropout width: 126mm
    Wheel size: 700C
    Seatpost size: 27.2mm
    Bottom bracket threads: Italian
Brake drop with 700C wheel: 45mm
Eddy Merckx frames are really rather nicely made and ride really nicely. This one dating from about 1987 is in exceptionally sound condition though the paint is a little tatty. Its almost certainly built from Columbus SLX tubing. £165

My friend told me you had an amazing array of frames and would be the guy to ask, so if even if you have sold this one, please do e-mail me anyway, would love to know if you sort out any.

    Thankss Hilary

  • Send him a PM!!
It's most unlikely that he (regularly) trawls all of his Threads, so it'll be quicker to contact him that way.

  • Unfortunately I can't!... I don't think. As I mentioned above I'm in the nursery so have to wait another 10 hours or so! Thanks for the advice though

  • Ah well, there's a box of Stickle Brick in the corner, that should keep you busy....;)
