A return to the cool classification could still be possible - the addition of some drop bars and minor chain adjustment would be a good start.
At this point I must point out that I am not qualified to give 'cool' advice. I am a nerd who frequents bicycle forums. I don't even own skinny jeans.
Ta for the straightforward comment, it's rather reassuring. Introducing oneself around here is fraught with danger.
I've got drops on my geared bike; though I always ride up on top of 'em so I figured I'd not invest in the extra metal for this one. As it is the new handlebars have a bit too much flex in them, which is obviously not cool. They also throw me a bit too far forward, but I'm generally pleased to have arrived at a reasonably good fit off the bat.
I've never understood Skinny jeans. I'm of the demographic for whom baggy jeans are cool. Sorry. I've recently considered the age at which either trendy gear becomes middle-aged clothing, or the age at which people should stop togging up in the latest threads. Results are inconclusive. My hair is symmetrical.
As for the caustic language, I love my new bike and up your bum and thank you very much for pointing out the need for a chain adjustment. I will fix it this evening.

Thanks again.
