  • Wasps get aggressive towards the end of summer. In the early summer they kill small insects and feed them to their larvae. They then get to eat the sweat secretion that the larvae produce. Once the queen stops laying eggs and they no longer need to feed the larvae, they don't get their sweet secretions. This is when the wasps start to look for sweetness elsewhere (usually on your ice lolly or similar).
