Team captains would not be allowed to pick their current teammates from their normal teams.
I like the sound of this... everyone can learn from each other's team experience to date.

Like it. Turbo league idea seems to have bombed though.
I'd definitely like to play in something longer-term over the summer/off-season. Draft/throw-in/whatever.

In (for pretty much any polo action).

Could do multiple fixtures but have bigger teams so that if one combination or strategy isn't working you can shuffle your line up. Or to preserve/maximize player energy throughout the fixture. Basically, bench minors turbo summer league extraordinaire?

Or maybe four-person teams. We could have one dedicated day for this league, and hopefully with four-person teams it would work out that many or all teams could make it each time. But I would think that regular 15 minute games with no subs during games should be the way to go.
Maybe we should start a list to gauge how much interest there is and then sort out the details after we no how much, if any, interest there is.
List for players interested in playing a mini draft league

This is the basic idea. To have some fun and shake things up. But not to break up regular teams.

I have a question, can dedicated teams of 3 enroll? so if I wnat to join with the Apples, can we staty together?

I think that would defeat the purpose of this specific idea. But I don't necessarily want this to displace a league with regular teams. I'm not trying to introduce any competition here or anything. Just floating an idea for a draft league of new teams. Ideally it could get done quickly, say in a month or less (two Saturdays, two Tuesdays?) if we could get a all or enough of the teams together. But to figure that out we have to gauge overall interest first.
But curious to hear what others think. And I won't yell at you if you propose something I disagree with.

sounds like an awesome idea. you could even have trades/waivers/free-agents and trade deadline so people can try out different combinations and then decide on what's working for the playoffs!
Brendan said on his League 3.0 thread that it "isnt the place to discuss, 1 game, 3 games, draws or GG's." So I'm starting a new thread for this idea.
I like idea of the standard, single winter league (probably starting in Sept), with our usual teams. But what about having a shorter league over the summer, where we have a draft for teams and fixtures are one game only. Team captains would not be allowed to pick their current teammates from their normal teams.
Possibly this could be merged with the turbo-league idea.
