My (English) BB thread has worn. I went into London Bicycle Workshop today and kind chap kindly tried to retap said thread but alas to no avail.
As I understand it my options are:
Get a threadless BB.
LBW man said Stronglight are best, but that'll be £80-ish. http://www.velo-orange.com/grcruthbobr.html have been suggested on other, erm, threads.
Wondering if anybody here has used either?
I need axle length around 111mm, or even less.
I believe I can get the BB relined and then have a thread tapped.
Can I get this done without damaging the paintwork?
Is there anywhere in London I could pedal over to and have it done while I sip a latte somewhere?
If I relined could I have it threaded Italian? (as I have a new Campag BB already)
What can I expect to pay for this kind of thing? (BB, not coffee, smart-arse)
I would appreciate the input of some of you experienced bods.
