• My bike is all put together now! Hurrah. Pretty annoyed with a slight complication because I have a threaded flip flop hub it means that to make my chainline straight I have to run 42/20 and I don't think I can switch between 52/20 and 42/20. I think I'll just buy another smaller sprocket and put it on my flop side(ss) and do my serious cycling on that. Would it be much easier to just buy another chain for the other side?
Hopefully I'll come to the next session as long as I'm not too bogged down with work!

We've ALL had threaded flip-flop hubs. Try riding a 38/23 and tell me your hub will last! ;@)

I would suggest a smaller chainring on the front, even if its a drop to only 39/38 (you should be able to do this on all raod chainsets) You'll notice a massive advantage in sprint/take-off speed.

To be honest I ride with a 15on one side and a 23 on the other (both fixed) so that getting to polo doesn't mean checking my calendar for when looks best to leave (taking into consideration weather, season, the likelyhood of Judgement Day arriving before I get there, etc) So I'd suggest investing in a new hub at the least, and a good one for the rear as well.

Anyway, look forward to seeing you whenever your next down.
