  • Populist party in vote chasing shock.

Nigel Farage would support the lynching of cyclists if he thought it would get him a single vote.

  • you're a brute.

    You're dead.

At least I am not mentally ill and/or a slap-head hillbilly faux-intellectual hipster wannabe

  • I don't live in those places either. But if you keep to one of the big parties, they won't change anything. They're useless.

Useless like voting for labour in Witney.

Simply "voting" is very very very very very very very very very very very very very unlikely to do anything. I'm willing to bet, without having done the math, that your one vote is less likely to do something than you are to win the lottery, give all the money to Cameron or Brown, and get a spot in the house of lords (with which you still won't be able to do anything, but you'll have more power than voting).

  • Merged!

    You're not?

  • Populist party in vote chasing shock.

Nigel Farage would support the lynching of cyclists if he thought it would get him a single vote.

If you change 'cyclists' to 'nodders' he would would clean up on LFGSS

  • You're not?

    No. I am Paramounted's dad (and I still don't know if I have a son or a daughter) and Velo-Libra's father-in-law-to be. It's a fucking nightmare.

  • Even voting liberal is a wasted vote

Depends on your constituency. But also, it might be a big one for the liberals, srsly. In 97 loads of decade old tory seats fell to a majority labour vote, a lot of them used to have liberals 2nd place.

It all depends on the relative perception of the liberals with the other parties.

  • Even voting liberal is a wasted vote.

    Probably: http://www.liberal.org.uk/

You could try Liberal Democrat though. Welcome to the 21st century Mr Quinn. Sorry, but your local Whig candidate has had to withdraw.

  • Also, the liberals support proportional representation, which would rule out tactical voting that can wipe out a party in one seat that has significant support. Chicken and egg, but you know. It's the long game

  • Simply "voting" is very very very very very very very very very very very very very unlikely to do anything.

Your vote won't do anything. Neither will the individual votes of every other voter in the country.

    Therefore, no one should vote!

    Is this you argument?

    Satire

    Yes. That is my argument.

  • Don't come crying to me when the BNP eat your children.

  • But if no one voted for them..

  • those prats will always vote.

  • Don't come crying to me when the BNP eat your children.

    Ha!

Read what I wrote in my other posts. I am saying that voting is a civic duty (in my opinion), and therefore shouldn't just be ignored. However, the system is stupid and votes a) are unlikely to affect results and b) systematically are not reflected in the end results (in any sort of proportional way).

That sucks. Why not have a system where every vote is counted? That sure would be nice.

Therefore, because I do think one should vote, but know rationally that it's a waste of my time, spoiling ballots is the best. And it's fun. You can draw boobies and cocks on them.

  • I will draw big exploding volcanoes on my ballot paper. Volcanoes rock!

  • well I can agree with that. PR is probably fairer.

We should have compulsory voting like (gasp!) the aussies.

Not that the uk needs any more rules...

    +1!

No planes in London *and *you can see it as God's just revenge for them stealing are your monies, VeeVee.

Fuck that Aussies and compulsory voting. That's like letting the prisoners run the prison.

    Wait a minute...

  • Compulsory voting? You want people voting who don't take an active interest?

If you want PR, consider voting Lib Dem (within the confines of FPP initially obviously)

  • +1!

Mother earth wincing at our bullshit.

  • The only good Tory is a dead Tory.

    FFs. Intelligent input, thanks.
