Anwayz, this subject is one of interest to me. For some reason I love old Japanese watches. Seiko diving watches and old Citizen things. ~For me a watch must be a minimum of 200m water resist cause nothing else survives surfing.
Best watch I have is a cheapish Citizen eco-drive with perpetual calendar. Has run flawlessly for about 8 years and even been down to 40 meters or so. Also have a couple of Casios, Calculator one with tV remote and a G-shock. My Gf gave me a nice seiko once but its not rated for diving, still love it though.
