Railings in front. When it opened I contacted them asking about bike racks, they said they would consider it. I doubt if they have installed any though.

You could lock your bike in the mailbox car park just up the road. It's got 24hr video surveillance......always helps for peace of mind!

depends which o2 academy you mean.

the one in Birmingham obviously

yeah i mean the Birmingham one. my mate had his bike nicked from the 'secure' indoor parking at the mailbox. to be fair he did lock his bike with a shoe string lock but still security couldn't find the footage so i dont know if locking there just gives thieves shelter and privacy...

Security couldn't find the footage...LOL!
Translation: Security nicked your mates bike.

Ive used the railing just to the right of the ticket office.
I really dislike the new academy, even worse than the last one.
No balcony, and theres something funny going on with the harmonics of the room and sound system. Nauseating.

theres some bike stands outside the hippodrome, might be my best bet. street view on googlemaps is brilliant for e-stalking.

WAIT!
Don't lock them at the Hippo.
Went for a few beers in the Green Room a few weeks back - locked my bike up and had a saddle/seatpost and knog lights nicked. My own fault, but these theives are clearly in possession of allen keys, so they mean business. Frickin'cnuts. -

just because you got stuff nicked from there doesnt make it any worse than locking elsewhere.

Alright then sunshine, how about i keep my mouth shut, then and wait until someone gets something nicked from an area where i had something stolen. Then fire on all cylinders with... "i could have told you not to leave your bike there".
Not my style my friend, not my style.

Ok ok let me word it differently. How do any of us know that any of the other bike stands in Brum aren't regularly targeted by thieving scum. Question mark. No matter where you lock your bike, it's vulnerable, because very few non-cyclists give a shit about bikes and because parts are so easy to steal. The thefts from the 24h security-and-CCTV-protected Mailbox car park are a prime example. However, If I was in your shoes I wouldn't want to lock my bike in the same place I had stuff stolen from previously, so I understand where you're coming from.

Plus it might be uncomfortable due to the variation in shoe size -
