don't use activesport (not listed), they fucked me around for 2-3weeks on a pair of rims
I have just had a fine experience with these guys, bought an mtb wheelset and rockshox dart3 forks... spent just over £300 overall, goods selivered swiftly.

In Germany. Big, free catalogues sent automatically. Lots of own brand stuff. Not always the cheapest, but sometimes good deals. Great service. No track-specific stuff.http://www.bike-components.de

Had some stuff delivered today from Geoffrey Butler Cycles (gbcycles.co.uk) in record time. Most helpful they were when I spoke to them. Thought I'd offer props and suggest they're added to the list.
They do some great prices on cycle clothing. Never had a problem with them.

Dont usually agree with naming and shaming, but this takes the piss.
Bonthrone bikes.
Ordered a pair of inners 28/08/09
Confirmed international postage amount on their site as I'm based in Norway.
Was sent a tracking number.
After a week or so the tracking number gave the parcel as 'delivered to local post office'
Another week passed and Royal mail claimed the same.
Checked with my local post office and they had no record of it in Norway.
Customs! I thought. So I contacted Bonthrone, and they said they would look into it.
Another week passed and I contacted Bonthrone again, who quoted the RM tracking site.
I said it was wrong.
They said thay would lookinto it.
Another week passed, I e-mailed them, and they quoted the RM tracking site.
I phoned RM myself, and was able to locate the parcel in Belfast (central distribution center).
I informed Bonthrone of this and that they had sent the parcel 'national recorded'
I also had the parcel returned to them.
more weeks passed and the parcel was not returned.
Last week I sent, an e-mail asking for a refund.
They said yes, yet nothing has happened.
I have now just checked the RM tracking site and it doesnt look like the parcel has been sent back yet.
I would expect Bonthrone to chase RM up, but suspect they wont. There are some truly great internet based shops on that list (I've used most of them) but Bonthrone are not one of them.

Planet X/Onone are pretty good, next day delivery, even if they did use a Shimabno Dura Ace brake kit box to wrap my chainset haha.
Good service though, will use them again.

My latest On-one stem came in a DA box. I like when shops reuse their boxes, but I cant help hear brucey in my head saying 'lets take a look at what you could have won'

I try to use my LBS first, however, when I need something specific I'll use one of these guys:
www.sjscycles.com (great for spokes)
www.velodrama.co.uk
www.parker-international.co.uk
www.roadacecomponents.co.ukI also had a bad experience with JE James, again, took 5 days to tell me item not in stock - that was after me chasing them!

Does anyone have any experience with ordering from: The Velodrome Shop,
I was looking to order some parts, and they have everything I need under one online roof...
-
• #93
Yup, no issues from me- although do shop around cos they were a tad pricy.
-
• #94
cool cheers mate,
yeah some of the prices aren't the best, but i think the stuff im looking at is pretty much the same price everywhere, and i like the way you get your choice of chainring size with cranks :)

When carboncyles shows a bit of interest in the FG/SS market, I'll list them.
Till then, they'll get custom on here from your recommendation.

What is your experience about this shop ? www.spacycles.co.uk
I thought that they are reputable and I placed an order on March the 29th. On April the 1st I got a mail saying that my order ''will go to the post office for dispatch to you airmail shortly'' (April's fool maybe).
Yesterday two weeks later, I wrote to them and I received this answer; ''Apologies for the delay. We have been extremely busy due to the Easter Hols and I haven't had tiime to get to the post office. Will get the post these either today or at the latest tomorrow.''
Very frustrating. I know these things happen sometimes and I hope it's accidental.
Geoffery Butler Cycles added, due to recommendations from JimboJones and Superprecise.
