Legally (in UK) you are within your rights to humanely kill and eat Magpies, but I was speaking to an old bloke who foraged to survive during World War 2 and he says they aren't very nice, not much meat and too stringy and chewy! He recommended taking the babies out of the nest (the evil man!) as they are nice & tender! As it's now half past July you'll be lucky to find any of those......
Why don't you tame a Magpie and train it to catch food for you? small rabbits or squirrels or something? They are supposed to be really intelligent. Just a thought!"
