It is a shame but for the price I really couldnt argue ;)

I do quite like the bars but combined with the stem their heavier than the frame....

  • I just got this bike for the princely sum of £15.... spent yesterday afternoon tweaking the breaks and sorting the wheels out.

Can't decide if i should leave it as a 5 speed, or change it to a fixie... It's ridiculously comfortable to ride.

  • bike finished!
    im going out now
    pics up tomorrow :)

  • settled. Rode it to work today to test everythign out. weighs about 19 lbs, fast. silent, so smooth over the bumps, tracks perfectly. gonna make the owner very happy.

it's so small on me hahah. my elbos are at my hips and my forearms are horizontal...

really nice riding bike though. seat needs a bit of tilting.

The crankset and spider are actually really pretty. some peugeot crap, but pretty to look at.

    total cost 120USD

  • Your own made freestyle frame?!

It's being built by Ricky Feather

    http://feathercycles.blogspot.com/

Some sweet frames being built by him, theres a few down at TFG i believe.

  • ^^looks very very nice.

  • Today I leant a great lesson, buying bikes from customers is not great.
I bought a tatty green holdsworth SS bike off a customer, after he brought it in for a puncture.

    List of slight issues:

    • Too small for me.
    • Stem seized
    • Seatpost seized
    • Headset fucked
    • BB seized and fucked.
    • Chain mummified
    • £0.50 plastic pedals - nuff said :P
    • Brakes fucked
    • V brake levers for callipers
    • Paint in very bad condition, decent amount of rust
    • Rear hub fucked
    • Front hub doesn't really turn.
    • Freewheel is dead.
    • White tyres.

    List of good things:

    • Holdsworth badge is very good nick.
    • Has a new innertube I fixed for the guy before buying the bike

    So, a good buy then.
    :)

We had fun after work :)

  • ....but I do have a soft spot for them Wolbers.

    +1

  • hey

it's goin to replace my beater conversion (http://ochecki.com/soens/john-doe.jpg) for the summer months

currently collecting all the necessary bits and pieces
Cinelli Unicanitor saddle and Titan stem stays

temporary wheels (cheap Conti tubulars on Ambosio rims and Miche hubs), headset (Tange), bb (noname), crankset (Shimano)... hopefully to be replaced with full Campy/Gipiemme (depends on the budget)

  • ^ ridiculously nice ^

  • Dem be some sooooft wheels for the road son.

I know about the Sheriff hubs reputation, they were laced radial front, radial NDS / X3 rear when I got the wheels, got them relaced to X3 hoping it will lead to less stress on the flanges. And of course I'm carefull with them no curbs and all...

  • i went into a car 5 weeks ago. only just considering getting back on the bike. today i noticed my top tube is bent from the impact.
