When did you guys apply for them?
Mine has taken ages since I renewed my racing license despite it being expected before Good Friday, it's gone to RPLZA HQ,so your's might be there too, Mike.
Login to your details on the BC website and print off the page, it should say your current membership status. (I could login to the databse to check for you both but can only access it through work laptop, which I don't have on me now)

Yasu. Your license is in the office at HH, amongst some others that were left on Good Friday
Thanks...it's last year's license though and I got the new one last Saturday. I seem to always do first few races with an old license, mainly because I'm too lazy to pick the new one up from Brixton Cycles...

Thanks RPM. I've checked the site and I'm still listed as a lapsed member yet the money (£170 - Gold Family Membership) has cleared from my account. I've tried to get is sorted. BC are looking into it.
Seems their online form fell over while processing the renewal. Was done on the 5th of April.
I'll bring the paperwork down with me... I'm sure the organisers will be cool, else I'll just have to pay the day license fee I guess...
See you tomorrow.

So how was the racing yesterday?
-

A's were fast... as expected. Bryan Taylor giving Simon Lewis a good kicking... and me suffering out the back.

There was a guy called Mike who I don't think I've met before; had some Rolla bibs and a borrowed helmet on a Felt TK2 he'd just got this week.
Said it was his fourth time on the track and he was the only B cat to stay with the group and finished really strongly on the final 20k race (top 10??). Chap to the fecking eau mate.

That's Charlie. He used to be a courier, and this is how he trains now...

Oh, there was also a girl who finished the 20K and won the first B :-)

Do i need a racing licence as well as british cycling membership to take part in the omniums?
came and had a gander on sunday at the races, and whilst im pretty sure i'll get my arse handed to me, i want to have a go, but want to do it as cheaply as possible!

^ Silver membership with the provisional license and therefore free day racing licenses via Rollapaluza (with the BC club discount) plus the entry fee on the day will get you racing in the omniums
-
• #42
how much is the entry fee?
has rolla membership :)

1st spring omnium is always hard, arse kicking territory. symon and brian winning everything, wind, old officials croaking through the PA, riders not hearing their numbers being called in devils, wind, great tea and cakes, wind, scary looking B cat races, wind...usual stuff.

£15 entry on the day for t'omnium. BC silver is twentysomething for the year.
Feeling like crying in a headwind on back straight = priceless. -

The omniums are always harder than more regular races like the track league =- so don't be put off that you found it hard. Plus by doing the first one you got in on the ground floor so to speak. Stick with it.

I'll be there this weekend!
-
• #47
Howd you do JC?
-
• #48
Finished in the group - hanging on for grim death! I'm couching and spluttering all kinda of horrible stuff, so hopefully that'll be gone by this weekend and I won't be hanging on quite as much.

Finished in the group - hanging on for grim death! .
Sounds like my usual racing experience, the hanging on for grim death bit, anyway.

charlie decided to match race against me on Saturday as we have the same bike. hmmm. 0/3 wins for me. he's quite quick (or I'm quite slow). nice chap also.
I will be doing the second and maybe third one. I don't have my license yet this year. I'm hoping Rollapaluza will have it
