Been to Mario's this afternoon, lovely guy, really really nice... albeit I had to make sure he kept taking notes of what I needed/wanted, all the time and still I checked it before leaving. No sweat, ended up knowing (I'd always wondered the origin of his name), his parents are from Goa (ex-portuguese colony), kinda trying to get some extra brownie points there : D.
Anyway, the 3 frames I took will be done progressively, since his 'help' to deal with any repairs has had some sort of problems, had to go to the hospital in december... and apparently, welding (smokes), were the problem!...so no answer on whether the panasonic's DT can be repaired.
Turn around time, 1st frame end of this week, the Carlton is going to take 9 days, the Panasonic might take up to 3/4 weeks, depending on answer.
Will update.
