Have you ever heard of haggling or bargaining? With second hand stuff its perfectly reasonable to make offers...

I think its fair to make an offer when the seller states "ono".
But otherwise i find it a bit rude to be honest, if you don't like the price then don't buy... simple.
Its different when someone is asking silly money, but i think £110 is a very fair price for that wheel.
ps sorry clefty for the thread de-rail and good luck with the sale.

To ask for £5 less inc postage which would cost £15+ you should atleast be asking £120...

I don't think it's rude to offer a lower price .. LFGSS is free market after all where anyone can buy and sell at whatever price they want. Obviously people asking silly money for bits will learn about it. I don't think clefty will be mortally offended at £105, and besides, an offer is better than no offer. She can always negotiate via PM, and it does bump the thread.
I've found it's only in the UK where haggling is seen as a bit rude .. in the rest of the world that's how most business is done, especially for used stuff.

She put a price of £110(which is more than reasonable) and it didn't say ONO
To come in and ask for her to lower the price AND pay atleast £15+ postage is taking the piss. Not only that, it doesn't make sense, why would she want to take less and pay more on top?! Odd request if you ask me

Yeah I spose .. she might just want rid of it though! Admittedly this haggling thing is much easier face-to-face on a market stall or something.

don't think bianchi-ripper's offer was THAT bad..
would have been much better handled through PM tho.
anyway good luck with the sale!
