Advice on 130mm hub rear

Posted on
  • I am looking for a rear with a 130 hub but am having a bit of difficulty finding anything suitable. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips please.

  • Add spacers to a 120mm?

A high quality Large Flange pair of track hubs, front OLN is 100mm, rear OLN is 120mm but will respace down to 110mm or up to 130mm with the addition or removal of washers. Rear Axle is 10mm in diameter, Front is 9mm, and hollow for lightness. Overall length of the axle is 165mm. The hub can be spaced to 130mm without swapping the axle.
Very good value for money compared to other hubs.Supplied with 2 lockrings.
Replacement bearings. - These are the same bearing for both front and rear. Our part no. is 17093.
    Chainline is 42mm
    Wheelbuilding Data
    Front : OLN : 100.0 mm
    dL,dR : 62.2 mm

    Rear : OLN : 120.0 mm
    dL,dR : 62.2 mm

  • How hard have you looked?

  • And velosolo sells CNC machined spacers for 120mm hubs

  • Depends on the application?
Phil, White, Phil track hubs can be respaced up to 130mm too. They even make a kit for it :-P

  • Thank you for the info, it is much appreciated and very useful, It may be the answer although I am not sure about spacers and then my chainline, I was already getting set to redish the wheel, but it looked like it may end up on the negative side, which won't work out to well haha. I could just get a frame better fit for the purpose but I am on a mission to make this work now, all adds up though huh.

  • If there is any advantage to 130mm spacing, it is that you should be able to arrange for zero dish even with a single sided hub. Unless you're particularly obsessed with some aspect of the chainset (e.g. maintaining a specific Q-factor or you have something with doesn't allow for the possibility of alternative BB spindle lengths), you should probably start by building the wheel with zero dish for maximum reliability, and then adjust the chainline at the front to suit.
