    Yeah get yourself to sandbar....

  • heat, sweat and curses

makes up for the beatiful weather i suppose

  • im in see you there at 6.30

  • running a tad late.......promise shall be there to "register" you all in time though x

  • pleasant 10mile ride from heywood to manchester.

about a dozen riders - mix of hyrid, road and fixed gear - left the big red bus, bombed it thru monkey town and into the countryside. daylight. no head wind. superb riding conditions.

mainly downhill, with a couple of inclines

lead group of james, vincent, phunkture and myself divided on the last pre-m60 rise of the a6045, with vincent powering up the last incline, with james easily keeping the pace...

chase group of phunkture and i finally lost contact at heaton park. i erred on the side of caution and didnt blast past the 5-oh meat wagon...

dropped phunkture on approach to cheetham hill, got slowed down a little in the early evening traffic, and hit the descent into manchester on my own on remarkably smooth asphalt. focus obviously drifting - that one of the most memorable parts of the evening, riding on road that wasnt strewn with potholes for 30 seconds... guess its been a long winter...

phunkture eventually makes contact with me by the cis, and we ride through town... with my tatical manoeuvre ditching my rival on the wrong side of public transport on portland and princess

vincent and james took the win at about 28minutes, and by about 4 minutes ahead of me, with everyone making it back safe at varying times of the evening

thanks heaps to charlie and nes for putting it on

1st (tie): james (jembo muntumeh) wise and vincent (mandahno mandula) ruane: 28minutes
    3rd: craig nasty

    1st (and only) lady: nes-star: 41 minutes

excellent swag from bagadoo, twin six and fabric horse

street drinking on the block of grosvenor and york and the obligatory move on... i didnt realise sb's license covered the whole block...

  • goddam that public transport....i had you there nasty, nevermind next time...

    great race

  • i'll rephrase tatical manoueverve... i took the right line on princess portland, didnt get snarled up by public transport and DROPPED phunkture for the last 1/2 mile...

  • by DROPPED i suppose u mean u beat the lights at Whitworth st and i didn't - sweet lines nasty, sweet sweet lines

  • i demand a drug test

  • nes = clean
i can verify james and vincent and myself had 1/3rd can of carlsberg each prior to the start
we were all clean apart from that. for once...

  • sweet lines nasty, sweet sweet lines

    ?

  • my sentiment indeed. i think he means the line i took to avoid a bus...

  • it was meant to be a sarcastic comment that obviously doesnt come across so well in the written format, merely referring to craig boasting about his amazing ability to DROP people totally without the aid of the odd lucky traffic light and of course his incredible bus avoiding skillzzz

  • skilzzz bubba... skilzzz... obviously i have some left...

traffic lights? i think i had my allocation of red lights that were NOT safe to cross...
