Cheers Ti.
Teddy - how strict will the grouping by colour be? Me and gf are in different colours, but kinda defeats point and lessens the fun of us spending day out on ride if together but apart in different groups.
If it's strict we'll try to swap (looking for pink or green swap anyone) but ideally it won't be strict just a guide to get groups roughly equal sized...

P.s. Big up Coventry Transport Museum for lending me some proper cycling plus 4's from the archives! Sweet :)

so i've shaved around the moustache and left a short beard...
the missus is not happy as i'll be meeting lots of her family for the first time on the saturday night (bad timign!) so i've made a compromise and toned down the outfit to allow me to possibly walk down the street and blend in as a normal person but with a few moments and my prop bag i can be a tweedy gent... not sure i like the compromise but hey ho!

Since when it's bad form to meet the missus' parents in tweeds?

Thanks - that's what I thought I heard
Once again I've failed to lay my hands on some tweed in time for the weekend and have no money so if it doesn't offend anyone too much I'll be in moleskins and wool. Plus smelly old barbour if the weather demands it.
One day I'll be the shooter not the beater....
doffs cap to the gentry on hereVery impressed with the pack from Bobbins, good work Teddy and Jacqui. One slightly lame question though, will there be a small spoke card to commemorate the ride to go with the original and xmas cards? Sad, aren't I?
there are spoke cards at the end..
Graeme and everyone else..please bring locks. There is parking but we are not liable for your bike so I would humbly suggest taking your normal precautions.

Why did I read that as if you shouted it?
Good god man, get yourself to the fine emporium of Messers Marks and Spencer and acquire a pair of smart black trousers, a plain white shirt and a tie of similar hue to your jacket. It should hardly dent your wallet (given that the rest of the day will be practically free) and join in the jolly good fun.
At the end of the day you'll still have a serviceable smart outfit, useful for many occaisions. A satisfactory outcome all round.
If funds are genuinely restricted, even the dark halls of Primark will see you looking like a presentable gentleman. (Word to the wise, when buying trousers for for cycling, add two inches to your normal waist size to allow for a more comfortable ride).
