    Good god man, get yourself to the fine emporium of Messers Marks and Spencer and acquire a pair of smart black trousers, a plain white shirt and a tie of similar hue to your jacket. It should hardly dent your wallet (given that the rest of the day will be practically free) and join in the jolly good fun.

    At the end of the day you'll still have a serviceable smart outfit, useful for many occaisions. A satisfactory outcome all round.

    If funds are genuinely restricted, even the dark halls of Primark will see you looking like a presentable gentleman. (Word to the wise, when buying trousers for for cycling, add two inches to your normal waist size to allow for a more comfortable ride).
