One other thing, what type of bottom bracket is it? I have a very old slotted one, which is seized on my current beater bike and can't be arsed to find the tool to try remove it!

i will measure the seatpost and get back to you if still interested
the bb is a 3 piece jobbie with cottered cranks. i cant be arsed to remove them so they are staying with the frame.i need to sell this so will take offers.

Good idea to keep the BB/Cranks with the frame - I have a Puch I'm doing up and finding the right BB is a NIGHTMARE. Swiss threaded. Serious business.
Any old road frame will do, possibly with a seat tube length of 53-54 cm. No bb required, just a shitty old frame!
