Wanted: Beater

polo beater or fixed with flip flop, i have a old road bike at the moment hacked and have been enjoying riding it throughly around lincoln for the past 6 months now i think its about time i did it properly.

id like the advantage of a flip flop hub as based in lincoln and its quite hilly in some parts, and the fixed side of things for speed when on the busy roads.

if anyone has any old beaters about ready to ride and you do not mind posting please get back to me with any images and specs lists and what kind of price you are looking at.

postage preferred as i am quite far away from london at the moment, and SKINT so anything reasonable please.

and im quite lanky at 6" 4 so 58/60 would be lovely, i dont mind drop bars or straight bars, just something to rag around the city and tinker with.

ive got a 54cm carrera strada(sprayed black), azonic double wall risers, middleburn rs7 crank with 34t uno ring, mavic open sport wheels with a double fixed hub, has two cogs, a surly 11t and a velosolo 16t, kmc chain, shimano front brake with a gold finger lever. good bits but looks rough as i ride to work on it. looking for just over £200, problem is im in southport, NW.

this is what it is but basically a diff crankset and wheels with a front brake.

54 is a bit to small for me id say! and if u changed all the bits it would be a semi different bike! and 200 is the steep end of my budget!

i do have the same carpet as you in my dining room tho!

I've an On One Lincolnshire Poacher.

It's a 60cm frame without any decals.

Flip flip hub as both cogs fixed and same size. You could fit a singlespeed if you wanted.

Bullhorn handlebars with front and rear brakes.

It's a lovely bike but I'm kidding myself if I think I'll get to use it much.

Just to clip on a Friend of mine just moved over to London from The Netherlands, and is looking for a cheap beater, SS, fixed or flip flop at this price he's not being pickey. He's quite tall 6'2 so I guess 58-59cm.

Someone out there must have a 50's Hetchins, a BJ Lo-Pro or an 80's 3Rensho that they want to gimme as a beater. I can go up to £150 quid, maybe maybe a little more.
