I think the suggestions of stopping in a park for a kickabout may cause distractions - you know, the momentum for the ride's gone, people get pissed in the park, injured or just generally decide to sack the ride off and stay in the park....
I'm all for having a kick about after the ride in that little park opp Highbury & Islington tube, plus it's 2 mins from the pub
