• How To Steal Music

(I had this kicking about for a while, thought I'd cut, paste and incur administrator wrath)

Many of you are penniless little fuckers. Now I always advocate buying records when I can, and I do often. The last thing I bought was a Sam Cooke box-set.

However I understand that in the current times of financial hardship, its not always possible to fork out the dorrah.

I therefore would like to circulate two websites which I recommend you use for evaluative purposes. I've been asked for this a few times and I leave the moral questions entirely up to you.

    The first: Stupid and Contagious.

Scroll down the names on the left hand side and you'll get an idea of what it covers. It's pretty amazing. I'm on a Scott Walker thing at the moment. Unfuckingreal.

    The second: Chewbone.

This is kind of a blog aggregator. It searches blogs that host mp3s and albums. It takes a little more work to figure out how to use it. Some blogs, the bigger hipster ones (e.g. Aquarium Drunkard) NEVER host albums, so they're kind of useless hipster shite. However, a bit of experimenting not only brings up a ton of really incredible music websites that make for good reading, but basically allow you to access any album by any artist pretty much immediately.

Technophobes only: files will be downloaded as .zip or .rar files. They need to be unpacked with a simple program. Google will help with this. Just try downloading something and double clicking on the downloaded file - if your PC has the appropriate program it'll unpack and you just need to drag the folder and drop it into itunes.

I hope this is of relevance to someone.
