Granted he was riding a 56" but doesn't that pic make my 52" look tiny. I need a normal bike in there for scale.....
Yes, I had to do a double take that you weren't riding a safety bicycle, which, as everybody knows, aren't 'normal'. ;)

RPM, you looked as if you were blown backwards coming of the back straight. Kat, hope Jon has sent you those pics and video of the big wheel (and some of the racing), or i'll go give him a quick kick. Got to see more racing yesterday than we thought we would though, but no training in the dry today?

Ha - hey, it was nice to see you again Oliver. I hope that arm heals up extra quick so you can get back on your bike.
Aston - yes, he did indeed. Thank him again for me please. It was great to see you both yesterday too.

And, of course, Joff holding off the peloton after dozens of laps out front:

Yep, that is my "concentrating" face. It is also my "i'm-having-lots-of-fun-but-hoping-not-to-hit-anyone-and-crush-their-stupendiously-expensive-carbon-bike-or-taco-someone's-120year-old-penny-wheel" face.

Now, in retrospect I realise I should have been trying to psyche out my competitors with my "watchout-i'm-a-fierce-and-mean-contender" face.
This obviously needs some work.
Lucky I have time to prep before the re-scheduled 100th anniversary of the 1mile ordinary race.
Grrrr I'm a tiger.

Shame it was rained off again but managed to get some early pics of the qualifiers.
Disgraced myself on the rollers [slower than last year] and mistook Johnny for one of my daughters Doctors :) "he does look like him though"
good to see you steve, glad to know you are back on the bike after that bad spill in december. your daughter made me laugh cos she agreed i looked like the doctor but "not as chubby round the middle" - but obvioulsy still a bit chubby like.
shame about the racing being rained off but awesome session down the regent before much more of the good fun at the rollers. great to see some esteemed westies make it down along with many more lovely happy faces

Ok, so I plug my blog every time I'm on her but ya have to admit, it is relevant for this thread:
http://zoom-gordo.blogspot.com/2010/04/freaky-friday-herne-hill-good-friday.html
Drove 120 miles to ride (my van had a cow's hoof print on it from the start of the journey) and the whole thang got rained off :( Coulda just as easily gone 40 miles to Portsmouth to have the Saturday event rained off AND had a lie in but hey.

If you wanted a lie in you wouldn't be a cyclist.

However, this afternoons weather was perfect. Is that ironic or is it the gods, the greek ones that is, just playing with us mortals again.
Coppi, you missed the cake again.
Nhatt and Oliver, I shall be discussing vegan cakes with the GLW, i e the good lady wife . I think her carrot cake may be vegan....
