On a wider level, if this would have gone through and the police officer had been prosecuted, then every dickhead with a gripe against any policeman would feel encouraged to take any officer to court for misconduct. It would have seriously undermined their authority.
Taking an officer to court for misconduct is a bad thing? Seriously? You want the police to police themselves? I can't see any problem with that. None at all.
I'm with LPG
"i was in a group of people doing illegal things en masse and ignoring commands to disperse engaging in violence against the police and the destruction of property when the office hit me" is not cause to sue.
Again, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about Chris. Keep taking pictures of pretty girls.
Christ you're a mong.
Your right-wing perspective would have led me to believe you're a religious fellow. I guess not.
Just because they were on separate days doesnt mean that it didnt affect the situation.
Put yourself in the position of anyone who has had to deal with public disorder. Tensions were high the first day because of these dribblers getting a bit big for their boots and thinking it was clever to smash up the RBS building and throw things at the police. After the death of someone it is likely to assume that the tensions would be higher and a violent disorder more likely to occur. (how can you not see this?) As a result the police would have been VERY on edge and more likely to react aggresively (as this idiot did). She was told to move back, chose instead to have a go and as a result got hit.
A police officer is expected to act in a professional way. Just because they happened to murder someone the day before doesn't mean you should have to walk on egg shells around them (well, pragmatically, it does. Shows what kind of bullshit some London cops are actually capable of. Although this is not news. She should count herself lucky she wasn't Brazilian).
What's more, surely after a death the day before, the police should have taken a bit more care.
