    il call you

  • sweeet

  • anyone got a campag bb tool?

  • and a drill

  • I have a campag BB/Cassette tool, but no drill.

  • I ahve a cordless drill, but its pretty weak, depends what you need it for? more than welcome to it though

  • my frame has brake holes in the forks and seat stay but they aren't big enough for any brake fitting....

found a campag bb tool and tried it but it doesn't fit. it is a miche bb and looks like a campag one but not quite fitting....anyone have any pearls of wisdom?

  • i have a miche bb and have used a campag tool with out any problems, its brand new tool though so the splines aren't chewed up too much. what kinda condition is the one you used in?

  • brand new too...it's like the campy one has smaller splines or something....it's really annoying me.

  • There are apparently 2 types of campag BB tool, one for Record/Chorus and one for cheaper ones. Miche use the same as Chorus and Record it seems, which is Park Tools BBT-5, which is the one I've got and have used on my Record Pista BB successfully.

  • can i borrow it please ronnie?

  • No probs, I should be home 6pm onwards, just give us a shout.

  • wooooooooooooooooooooop

  • just need to get the guts to drill into reg....

  • nes i had to do this to an old not so nice frame, the outer hole in the bridge is 6mm, the inside is more like 10 thats if you fitting a brake like this style of bolt?,

it can be awkward to drill the inside because the seat stay gets in the way, if you are unsure i would take it to bike boutique

  • not that hard, I drilled out whatever you filled in the brake bridge on the orange frame with pretty easily

  • I used an 8mm drill bit on a raleigh conversion to fit some shimano dual pivots - fitted just right if that helps

  • hmm i only need to do the front brake (atm mo as prob gonna run fixed) and only the back hole as the front part of the brake fitting goes in...10mm, 8mm or 6mm??

  • im saying you have to drill the outer hole at 6 mm for the brake bolt to fit through, then the countersunk nut bit goes in the back but needs a bigger hole, more like 8/10mm but check it with whatever brake you have,

if you drill it all the way through at 8mm the brake bolt will be too loose because they are 6mm

    i have drawn a picture:

  • yeah yeah obviously, the front bit of the brake goes in fine, it was the back size that i was on about. i'll try 8mm, then if it's too small i'll try bigger, thanks x x

  • good diagram btw
