Em and Ray both had have carbon sky poles, they lasted a sunday in the first case and a couple of weeks in the second, no worthy.
In the other hands, Andy Lewosky, play with graphite golf clubs and he swear by them, from time to time he breaks one, but the same as you will expect sky pole to break. He bought 6 or 7 in the bay for £20, so not bad deal...
Also, Scott ski poles are not always 7075, so dont get any Scoot thinking is going to be good.
