God, cycling drunk is the worse thing you can do, it seemed doable because driving a car while being typsy does not required you to keep a constant balance like you do on a bike.
my poor missus almost went against the traffic on New Oxford Street and trying to find the pedal to get away from the impending doom awaited her when she was tipsy.
end up walking to the flat in the end.

God, I was kidding, I don't think riding whilst tispy would be a good idea..

No, you just need some more confidence to do it ;) Uuuuups, sorry...
I was joking, of course...

LdnGrrl, I PM'ed you about cycle training. Ping me back and I'll try and hook you up with some free instruction.

if you're that bothered about looking behind you AND riding in straight line, and it does come naturally after a while though, I can lend you a "periscope mirror" bike helmet- its a little taller than some helmets.
You look up a fraction when riding and you can see lots of things behind you in the mirror- I used it for Derny pacing in training, I could see the rider, or string of riders clearly behind me, so equally its good for seeing traffic behind too.
(I did use it for Derny pacing racing until I was told off, by then I learned to use shadows as part of the routine of knowing the rider was still behind me).
PM if you want it, I can drop it off somewhere for you.

I'll think about it, think I should try and practise looking over shoulder and straight line first! Thanks

Hey, how was your training yesterday?
-
• #163
it's easy, just turn your head without moving your shoulders, it's the shoulder movement that makes you swerve the way you're looking

• #164
