it looks like a single front chainring, the problem would be spacing the cogs when the cassette is ripped off. May be possible to get a bmx freewheel on there, or other solutions,
many people here would also simply say, its a fairly low grade frame, not very strong, dont bother.
my advice is if you really want to learn read Sheldon, talk to real living breathing mechanics, get to know your shops, and try stuff, get it checked before riding, for there is nothing better than the experience of doing it yourself.
