I might be able to get gas (tell me this after I buy a brand new electric cooker - duh) but I really can't be arsed with it. I'm bleeding enough cash. I'm also not planning to sell this place for some time so resale is of no concern to me. We managed fine for the last 3 years without gas. http://www.nationalgrid.com/uk/Gas/Connections/online/guides/guidance/QuotationCharges.htm
stevo: "the cold water tank is what will be supplying your shower, toilet and bathroom sink. the undersink thing will be ok if it's only doing your kitchen sink."
Can this come straight from the water mains or does it need this tank in place as a kind of buffer?
With one of those tanks you will need a gas boiler and space to store the cylinder in your flat it would be over kill.
It could be that the element has failed or the timer has gone kaputt.
