• That was good. The Mass was a lot quicker than usual, though. I lost the back shortly after the start and walked across to SE1. Thanks for the company, lpg! Didn't quite make it to the Druid Street junction but arrived at the Weston Street junction in good time for quite a moving little ceremony, with Des (Mr highly decorated recumbent) speaking.

Getting to Victoria Park was more of an ask, but I just about made it by getting on a 25 at Aldgate (which, as it turned out, was following the Mass up the A11, or at least I was later told that the Mass had taken that route) and then a 277 up Burdett Road and Grove Road. I then saw that it encountered the back of the Mass and got off to walk to the Grove Road roundabout. The rest of it was a pretty good occasion, with the Mass slowly shedding mass, including a further contingent of forumengers off to the Dover Castle. Unfortunately, I couldn't have made it, as it would have taken me more than an hour to get to Marylebone by public transport.

I bumped into more than a hundred people I know, forum and non-forum, which was great, and I took a lot of photos--I thought I might as well have some kind of purpose beyond just walking along. I'll put them up when I have time, although it probably won't be this week-end.

Happy birthday to the forum, and here's to a lot more rides with a purpose.
