Shit, those witness accounts sound rough
-

That sounds terrible. I really hope the cyclist will mend.

Is this a different incident?
Northgate Pub is not on Kingsland Road.
-
• #7
that is down the road, two seperate incidents.
-
• #8
Thought as much. I use both those routes.
Gonna be some bad stats this year. Too many road users.

Sorry, got my intersections mixed up. This was the corner of Southgate and Northchurch.

• #10
1/2 mile down the rd though

• #11
That sounds horrible, hope the old fella's OK... :[

Crikey. Do non-fast action response drivers get specialist training?
-
• #13
All In order to drive any police car, you have to have specialist training. I don't know the specifics, but anyone driving a police car has been specially trained to do so.
An unfortunate accident. Did the cyclist have lights?
Hope he pulls through, and gets back on a bike...

That roundabout outside the Northgate pub is an accident waiting to happen. The council spent months working on it last year and made no difference at all.
Best wishes for the injured. I heard the cyclist was still talking after the impact.

So what about the first accident? Any news anywhere?

It's the same one (unless there were two accidents in the same place). The northgate pub is on the corner of southgate and northchurch, I think a few people above have just got their wires crossed.
-

The thread originally said Kingsland Road. (See correction to first post) Hence the wire crossing confusion. It's the same incident.

Yup, I fixed the thread title so that the info was correct.

Whilst police drivers do have additional training they are often still not brilliant T controlling a car at high speed.
Autocar Magazine used to invite Police response drivers to their handling day, the Police stopped coming when their drivers were shown to not be in great control of their cars.

thoughts and prayers with the cyclist and his friends and family.

i wonder whether those emergency services driving fast arrangements are causing more trouble than they are worth.

Rather than the kids with guns on the estates of Hackney?

Jesus, I saw this. Well I didn't see it happen but I saw the old guy pootling along and five minutes later saw this mental unmarked guy who didn't even have his lights on, just the siren blaring, and then a silver cop car blast down. I remember thinking something serious was going down. Horrible.

Do yo mean that there were two police cars with sirens, one after the other? Which one was in front? What direction were they going?
Came through Northchurch Road last night at about 10pm. Corner of Northchurch Rd and Southchurch Road had a section of the road closed off with a mangled women's bicycle on the road. Ambulance, several police cars. Saw a stretcher but no movement.
Passed on through after a quick look, not wanting to hang around. Certainly put much more of a damper on my spirits than the rain did.
Anyone have any details at all?
Edit: Updated location, got my intersections mixed up.
