  • I've got a perfectly fine hipflask... can I justify another..

  • Hello,

Sorry if this is seen as spam, but I'm selling my lovely vintage Dawes Dominate bike which I was riding last year:

ooh! It could be yours for this year's ride?

  • don't forget, you can pick up your registration packs from this afternoon! when you get your pack, put the numbers somewhere safe. you'll need them to ride along and to get into the starting venue, the stops and the party at the end.

oh, and the hip flasks and sprinter shoes are now available in the webshop.

  • I have picked up my registration packs from Bobbin, and had a rather unfortunate accident which resulted in me buying a pair of those fantastic shoes :-)

Wow, they are lovely. And very comfortable too.

I had registered an interest on the tweedrun.com webshop but seeing them in the flesh, and in my size too I had to have them there and then. :-)

  • BlueQuinn,
I would have done the same, but by the time I reached Bobbins, I'd already bought them through the TweedRun web-shop. They are rather lovely.

Top marks and thanks to the organisers (Teddy, Jaqui and anyone/everyone else) for the riders packs, it's quite amazing what you can get for nothing these days!

  • Are the post ones in the post then too? Time to sit by the front door expectantly...

i'm visiting from seattle and i'll be london on wednesday.does anyone know a good hostel!i'll be there for two weeks, plus im riding in the tweed run too!

  • The only hostel I know of Is The Generator nr Kings Cross http://www.generatorhostels.com/en/london

    Which is cheap and cheerful.

  • Have purchased hip flask. Patiently waiting on posted pack. Must go out this weekend and get some shoes and a cravat.

  • For those travelling by rail to the Tweed Run:

There's industrial action on the trains from the 6th April to the 9th April - I've had an email telling me that my train down on the Friday might be affected.

I'm going to London on the Friday even if I have to ride down in full tweed.

    Ditto... :(

  • Is everyone going on the tweed run registered or do people just plan on turning up?

  • Please can people who are not registered not turn up. This sounds harsh but Teddy and Jaqui face a £5000 fine if the number is exeided, wich isnt fair on them. So again, if you arnt registered, please please dont come and just tag along. Sorry.

  • Crashing the ride has been covered before a few times on this thread.

In a nut shell registration has been limited to 400 because of council permits that make the ride possible. If more than 400 people turn up then Teddy & Jaqui the organisers are liable to quite a hefty fine.

Don't do it, just wait for the next one.

  • ............blah,blah.. Part of the aim of the Tweed Run this year - is to prove that it can be done well and without the use of closed roads, police etc., we've worked really hard with the buroughs involved to make an event that will work and will prove that it's not necessary to close roads, freak out, arrest people etc., SO it would be a REAL shame if anyone here just decided to ruin our hard work and sabotage the event - playing into the fears of the councils and police - which would ultimately lead to it being EVEN harder to have our brand of fun in the city...

DO YOU REALLY want to live in a city like NYC was a few years ago??? I think not, at least not if you actually love cycling.
    .

  • Thanks for that just wanted to know what the score was.

Given that registration was full hours after it opened 400 may have been a little conservative I did try and register.

I will turn up to take pictures but not do the ride.

    Zeb

  • I think that was the biggest permit they could safely get. 400 people is a lot to organize.

  • there might be chances for you to win tickets closer to the date as it was mentioned that some tickets were held back for promotions and such like. keep an eye on the free papers and an ear on local radio stations i guess.

  • What competion?

  • Have a search - Velocio posted up a new thread with the competition details on. I think there also might be some more details on the tweed run website.
