Question about shipping costs to Germany

Posted on
  • Hi,

just bought some rims on ebay ... they are in london
Now the seller wants 38gbp for shipping the 2 rims to germany.
he says it takes 3 days
    they are 28" @ ~330g each

i paid 45gbd for shipping a 13kg frame some weeks ago, so i think this is quite too much

what's the cheapest way to ship them since i don't need them to be here as soon as possible?

  • Should be about £25 according to the company I normally use. If you like ask if you can arrange the courier and if he says that it is okay then pm me and I'll sort it all for you.

  • still very expensive, sending from holland to london only costs 13,10 euro for up to 2 kg

  • The courier I use will charge according to size rather than weight upto a certain weight for the size....if that (I) makes sense.

Royal Mail up to 2kg is £11.29 but "Length, width and depth combined must not be greater than - 900mm The greatest single dimension must not exceed - 600mm". A pair of rims will be too big and with packaging maybe more than 2kg too.

Like I said I will arrange a courier if the seller agrees, I will only ask you to pay what I will pay cos good karma from kind deeds is always welcome.

it's 17 euro from germany to uk for a pair of rims ... still quite good price i think

I'm propably going with the courier

  • Try these guys;

    www.interparcel.com

  • 21gbp there ... thanks for the site

  • No problem. They always seem to have the best prices for shipping to Europe and they collect. It's perfect.

  • Sorry Schnitter as I just said in my pm giving you the link to the courier service I use would have been the easiest option, I seem to keep it close to my chest like my best kept secret!

Anyway http://www.p4d.co.uk/ are who I use which are about the same price as interparcel depending on size.

    Good luck
