How the hell did you get all those hubs?! Ridiculous, Eddie...
I like the Dawes BTW, but it's too small and I don't need a new frame. The unipack actually looks kinda cool too. -

Is it bad to be tempted by the UniCack for polo?
-
• #16
Dat frame is heeeeeaaaaavvvvvvvy
-
• #17
it is quite heavy - its a steel frame.
the bottom bracket is quite low thought for polo. Cause going through the corners gives you pedal strike. You would need 160-155mm cranks.
I had it set up for the tournament last year and you can see how close the pedals come to the ground. I had 170mm cranks and it was a nightmare.

Yo Eddie, in that big bag'o hubs have you got a reasonably good fixed rear hub? Thinking of building a fixed polo wheel.
-
• #19
d'oh just read your post again, no fixed hubs. but i am on the look out for a fixed rear wheel not too expensive to try out on my polo bike if anyone has one going?
-
• #20
You could just get a normal freewheel one and suicide the back wheel ie bb lock ring and cog
-
• #21
Eddie, is the dawes frame still available?
-
• #22
I have no idea :)
I think so, you want?
-
• #23
Errr I don't think so... the dawes is my polo bike in waiting - half built up already! Sorry.
-
• #24
Haha, Eddie! Can't keep track of your own stock! No worries Julian, enjoy it!
-
• #25
hey you got any 28h front hubs 100mm?
Need to sell these cause I just will never get round to using them, and no room in ze garage. Local pick-up i.e. me HOUSE or MAYPOLE or at the BA.
1. DAWES SHADOW 52/55cm - frame, forks, seatpost
£SOLD
Lovely Reynolds 500 frame, Mr foxy put some track ends in (one of his best jobs, check the pictures for clearance). It's quite long on the top tube and short on the seattube. Will include original forks but with some nicer ones it will make a great beater. Currently sprayed with just a black spray can, raw metal underneath so it would be nice to spray it properly at some point. Its had a lot of job done on it with removing brazeons etc, very smooth all round. Will include the seatpost as its some weird size. I think its like 50-55 quid to have track ends put without the actual cost of the ends, so asking for 40 for the lot.

2. UNIPACK Frame 54cm? or something - frame, forks, headset, stem, bars and bottom bracket.
£30
Used it with big fat tyres in the snowy winter, just an absolutely brilliant little hack. Bottom bracket a bit low so it'd be nice to have 155mm cranks. Very (surface) rusty but nothing wrong with the frame. Would keep it like that if i was you and just ride it off road or something. Tough as shit this thing is bombproof. Includes bb, stem, bars and headset. Asking for 30.

£10 or make me an offer
Bogey's ex-polo frame. Can be used for polo again as its perfect size or offroad. The seatstay are a bit bent so it might need bringing back to life. The forks on there are suspension but they dont work anymore so will work like any other rigid ones. Can be used for disk brakes on both front and rear. Twenty seems fair...

4. RALEIGH ARENA 52/54cm - frame only
£SOLD
A simple raleigh in a small size. Polo maybe? Good for a beater, looks really nice actually, pretty scratched up. 10 pounds?

5. RALEIGH PIONER 52 or something - frame and forks
£2 or BEER
Perfect for some chopping up, maybe if your bored on a weekend or something. Throw it at your neighboors window or make it into a tallbike or something. The forks are bent (on purpose) to bring the front wheel closer. Not the tightest geometry ive seen. Have it for 2 pounds or a beer.

Also have one or two hubs lying around, tell me if you need anything or see anything from the picture you like. Don't have any fixed ones but do have 48 hole bmx ones. Good for building a front wheel for polo or throwing it at your neighbour.
