this was restored some time ago and then never built up, it's in perfect condition.

531 tubing, chrome drop outs, english threaded.
    correct period brampton headset.

    it's for 27's.

    i'm looking for around £300.

i'm just going to double check the size.

    pm's or dibs please, thanks

  • Beautiful frame, ropey paint job, rusty, what's the story with the track and fork ends? I've never seen anything like that, is it the pics? Very poor luglining.
Sorry to be so critical when I have no interest in buying, but really, nice frame, shame about what's happened to it.

  • And the transfers are wrong for that period.

  • yeah, thanks for your input.
it's a 1958 track/road path frame, so as mud guard eyelets.
it was repainted at dave marsh's, where all the old carlton lot work, they're all little past it now.
the lug lining is not the best but there's no rust.

  • nice frame

  • thanks.

seat tube 56cm c to top
    top tube 56.5 cm c to c

serial number on rear drop out is F6538

  • You'll never get £300 for it...

It may be the pics, but rust at seat clamp and where neutral chain stay enters BB shell lug and really what's the story with the ends it looks as if someone has taken a torch to them after painting...

  • But, Beautiful frame, I suppose I just question your use of the word restore.

  • ^ I think it is just the picture, they look like nice chrome dropouts to me

Ahh, that's a relief, I really couldn't work out what the finish was, It looks something like burnt toast with egg white on it on the Flicker pics, that would make the whole thing look nicer and it is a lovely looking frame.

  • So its a badly repainted Carlton. What part of that makes it worth £300?
Bit harsh, but its over priced, and not worth £300 mate, despite it being old and lovely(ish)
