In Holland a few months ago and an American girl came and asked "Sprechen sie Englisch?", to which I replied "Probably much better than you speak Dutch".
Americans are free to believe that they are free! However their educational system does not give them the tools to realise that they are not.

Considering the tens of thousands of innocent people slaughtered for no other reason than to secure** oil and money**...I find CC's comments rather tasteless, said in jest though I'm sure they are.

My dad always used to tell me a somewhat tall story when I was a kid about one of his mates in the building trade did some repair work in a warehouse once, and that the warehouse was full of things like ever-lasting lightbulbs, and all the gadgets they couldn't release because they would wreck the economy...

Why was it so unbelievable? It's widely known, for example, that Tesla had a lot of difficulties with Edison concerning the use of AC current. (Who knows what else was 'undervalued')?
