This is more great news Clive, I look forward to seeing you on your bike soon. Surely this also means you can treat yourself to something Rapha/Assos/Glider catalogue?
MrSmyth, who would you cast in the role of Mrs O? Or are you not letting the true story get in the way of your script so you can sex it up a bit with the love interest from the secretary?

What brilliant news Clive - and just in time for Spring!
I imagine it's unlikely, but would you care for company for a short spin on the road on Saturday? It would be a pleasure...

Unclipping is the fear of most trackies...
I unclipped in a madison 5 yrs ago- collarbone, kneecap, full back scrape all corners off..And that was with old skool SPDRs..Now sprint with same adapted pedals and shoes with double strap=solid.

That would be nice but not too sure when I will be riding as I have a few parental/spousal duties to attend to. Also I am going to be deliberately slow and gentle and probably need to avoid trying to keep pace with a young fit skinny person. I am thinking of a gentle ride to Herne Hill and back and, if I am up to it, a few circuits of Regents Park. Let me get a little fitter and more confident of my recovery and then we can arrange something.
Also I have yet to persuade MrsO....

Woop! Give us a call if you're going to Herne Hill - Gwyn and I will be coming back from Southwark at about 11 if you want outriders / bum cuppers?
We'll go nice and slowly for you!
See you tonight... -

Fair enough, I expected as much! I may pop down to the track on Saturday to see who is about. It would be good to see you on the bike Clive.
Good luck.

I was sitting in a meeting in my office this afternoon when I suddenly became rather uncomfortable. After a moment or two, however, it passed and I forgot all about it. This evening the nurse was very excited about my continued recovery and went to get a mirror to show me the progress. There was something black in the wound, the size of a penny. I asked what it was. The nurse reached in with tweezers and extracted another but smaller piece of bioglue. I then remembered the twinge of an hour or so earlier.
Never a dull moment with my left buttock.

That was beautiful. Nice run down to Herne Hill and back. Not the most scenic of routes and certainly not the nest weather but good to have a destination rather than short loops that could be curtailed. After some initial stiffness it was easy and really enjoyable. Even the hill was fun and didn't cause any strain or discomfort. A mere 15 miles today. Longer next weekend. I feel as though I will never look out at a damp day and pull the covers back over me; I will be riding, whatever the conditions just because I can and because riding is simply enjoyable.
Snowy, sorry not to call. I am running late and my phone was out of battery. Catch you soon.
