Any clues? I tried to look for a serial number but its been repainted over it.

  • It's a step-through model bicycle... Don't believe this was formally addressed in the previous posts... It may actually be an early Cervelo prototype... WIll have to check...

But you can only put up to 26 x 1.95 tyres in there, don't try to to use downhill-specific ones, won't fit.

Can you use an uphill specific on the rear and a ride to the pub on flat roads specific on the front?

This is fine but it only works with 36h rims.

    This

  • The clue with these old 3-speeds and roadsters, is usually in the fork crown and chainwheel. I cant quite make out the 3 emblems. If you can tell me what they are, i should be able to point you in the right direction. The tyres look like 26x1 3/8, or 590, so tyres are dead easy to get. Sturmey archer AW hub?
It looks like 1950s or 60s, inexpensive town bike, similar to Raleigh Wayfarers and the like. Nice little thing for knocking about on and loaning to people.

  • could be a hercules, random guess there.

  • My recommendation, don't worry about the make, just tidy it up and tweak it for your mate to ride.
