13169 stamped on the bottom bracket shell, no number on the forks as far as I can see. Also has nervex stamped on the bb and a smaller number/code stamped: 61°64°0*(or could be a 9 really hard to tell)*222E36

history, well I got it from a guy who used to race it on the track in the 1960s, I've posted all the numbers on the bike above. There is a lot of info on grubb bikes here http://homepage.ntlworld.com/nkilgariff/FreddieGrubb.htm
I have a headbadge which will be included, I think it may be a slightly later one that the era of this frame, but well its still an FH grubb headbadge. It is a nice frame built in london.

Hi-fellow Canterbury cyclist. Came across this viewing it as gold dust! Any chance you could PM me with your email?

what's the top tube length?
-
• #15
57cm
-
• #16
The original paintwork had been painted over by the previous owner in the 60s so the seat tube transfer is long gone. The headbadge I have for it was purchased by me, it is the crossed flags, I'm pretty sure this is incorrect as the fixing holes seem to be spaced for the earlier headbadge. Thanks for the info, where did you find the fork number?

provisionally sold to wazzawazza73
Freddie Grubb 531 steel fixed gear track bike. The bike has track ends from the 1950s, beleive it is a comet model.
The frame is 58cm and is finished in matt grey, It has very lightweight tubular tyres and wheels with new tyres which are only a few weeks old, they are filled with a lightweight self sealing liquid so you do not have to worry about punctures. They also have a nylon rather than cotton casing so they are fine in the wet too.
Lyotard track pedals, milremo stem. The bike can come with either of the saddles pictured, the white one was recently bought from brick lane bikes. I also have a headbadge which I've not got around to fitting and a brake setup if you need it. Can throw in a nice set of vintage drop bars with new red grip tape if you want them too.
You are welcome to come and view the bike in canterbury, it is pick up only and cash payment please. I may be able to meet you in london if I'm in town.
for sale as I have no use for it now living in a tiny city, got my road bike and mountain bike too, so its just taking up space. want £275 for it. Thanks John
