  • I'd rather wear a shell suit.

    Off you go then Jimmy

  • Calm down etc etc.

  • Now then, now then, children.

    reported.

  • Golly, I didn't know Rapha were around back then.

  • Well, in fact, the money goes into Mr Big Rapha's Big Pockets. Not much room left in there, I would guess, after a successful career in the city followed by a few years copying vintage cycle clothing and flogging it off to "market segments" who buy things because they are expensive. All that ersatz art photography and never-mind-the-price-just-feel-my-huge-passion-for-cycling schtick...

    This is a good thing.

Or we can all just wear overalls.

  • Good bikes aren´t cheap and cheap bikes aren´t good.

The same goes for cycling apparel...

But then you have the overpriced ones which are not better then the good ones, but owned by less people making them appear exclusive.

Which is good if you want something exclusive.

  • wow it seems like the rapha thread is unravelling ( literally ) and the stiching is coming undone
the higher the price the poorer the quality
not so nice but still pricey

  • With Rapha I feel that too much of my hard-earned is going into a rather smug branding exercise - I'm shelling out for an image that I don't care about and that one day will enable the owner to sell his company to Adidas for a small fortune.

  • This image is something that you do care about?

  • just keep posting about how expensive it is and how the quality is getting poorer and soon the world will be aware

  • I'm shelling out for an image that I don't care about

    More fool you, then.

  • This image is something that you do care about?

Yes, very much. The colours are a bit muted, though, and I can't see whether there are any velour panels.

  • More fool you, then.

I mean "I" as in "I, imagining myself to be a consumer of the Rapha brand". Sorry for not making that clear to you. I wouldn't ever buy the stuff because people say it's expensive and falls apart.

  • Yes, very much. The colours are a bit muted, though, and I can't see whether there are any velour panels.

You can always wear pyjamas, though
