and and and and and....we have said all this before...though please, pretty please read this opus to the bottom, and take heed of what everyone else has said.
if you had that same 200 quid...and had the chance to buy a bike from the forum, that you didn't then have to spend money on a bottom bracket, tyres, chain, bearings, wheels, handle bars, stem, headset, saddle, rim tape, cranks, chain ring, .....have I forgotten anything?
So, that makes about £300...and then looking at what you could buy from this site...that was well built, not extremely heavy, didn't creak like a fiddlers elbow, didn't keep breaking down on you, didn't make you look like you had just spent the best part of 300 holes on something terrible, something you didn't have to cover the name up!!!!
would you still recommend anyone to buy one?
that Crumb, is the question?
why buy something you have to hide the damned name on? it's the very antithesis of proudly polishing your bike...it's blamming loads of stickers on it so no one knows you have been duped.
what i find disappointing is that you can get a LOT of bike for 300 quid, you really can.
and one that you will gladly tell people what it is...ie it's a ...... he beamed.
and not ahh, yes...I broke my arse when the front wheel folded on me, very close to killing me if it was slightly further down the road as I would have been under a lorry.
The major factor is they look 'safe' and new and, well... they just aren't, we have all ridden bikes in various states of disrepair, however you know that they are a little dodgy and ride accordingly..ie brake sooner, lean less hard...etc etc etc...
and these bikes lull you into a false sense of security, meaning you are putting yourself in far more danger.
I don't want to sound like an old lady, however I have only ever seen 2 near fatalities in my life and don't ever want to see another. You would be amazed at just how much damage a slow moving bus can do, 20 tonnes of steel clipping your head...bingo..you are fucked...
Crumb, please be careful, check and recheck and either replace everything or sell the fucking thing.
They are fucking death traps.
good god no! but being a poor student, ill take what im given.and i wouldnt be able to afford to maintain it without this forum, as i can get cheap parts to replace the create ones
but i would in no way recommend this to anyone. unless your looking for a cheap runabout just while you wait to get a good bike, as i cant not have a bike, even for a week, but soon as i save enough im having a create BBQ. or im giving it to someone i dont like
