I'm sure they would've realised. It's quite an old clip no?
only a month
You know, Arclid will probably get it pulled from YouTube now because it's got their logo on it and that's trademarked.
pretty sure that this is not illegal, as it is not trademark infringement
What is trade mark infringement?
If you use an identical or similar trade mark for identical or similar goods and services to a registered trade mark - you may be infringing the registered mark if your use creates a likelihood of confusion on the part of the public. This includes the case where because of the similarities between the marks the public are led to the mistaken belief that the trade marks, although different, identify the goods or services of one and the same trader.
Where the registered mark has a significant reputation, infringement may also arise from the use of the same or a similar mark which, although not causing confusion, damages or takes unfair advantage of the reputation of the registered mark. This can occasionally arise from the use of the same or similar mark for goods or services which are dissimilar to those covered by the registration of the registered mark. -

Not at all. Get to it.
No thanks. Get one of those Roy Orbison glasses-wearing media types onto it.

so the lorry drove into the car, but 'Police say no action will be taken against the truck driver.'
WHAT?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!!?!? how is that not driving without due care?!?!?!
-
• #30
maybe the car driver was driving without due care and attention to get there in the first place

I feel that my heart is completely in my mouth when I watch this. Unbelieveable? Seems real enough.

Seriously WTF. Would be interesting (word used lightly) to see how that actually happened though, surely the lorry would have had some kind of impact with the car before it started pushing it along.
look like the car must've changed lane without looking properly thinking it's ok to do so, the rear side of the car must've come in contact with the front end of the truck end up getting nudged by the truck, spun and planted neatly on the bumper.
I doubt it would create a lots of noise when it do that.
or the truck didn't see the car changing and carry on driving.

But surely if you into a car even if your driving a lorry you would feel a bump or would feel you need to put your foot down more to keep your speed up.

"Police say no action will be taken against the truck driver."
Typical.
So what are the local laws in that part of Germany that makes you think he should be prosecuted?

i don't actually consider this to be a fake as of yet, although i find it highly unusual that this hasn't been reported on any news sites etc.
look forward to someone blogging about email responses from the haulage company etc.
also, find it a little strange that in the first instance of the clip, you aren't able to see the truck's right headlight through the windows of the clio.
if this is a fake, the film-makers need to be given a job asap. major viral action today on the net! -

As they said on trucknet though, if they don't report murder, why report this?

cruise control?
Turns off on impact. looks like a set up to me.

If it's fake, it's damned good; at 6s you can still see the clio brake lights in the cutaway shot.
I say real.

agreed!
If you search my posts you'll see one a few months back where I saw some very long and wide skid marks on the M6 north upto J12 slip, On the end of them was a fiesta sideways on stuck up against a TNT merc. the skid marks were 300 - 400 yards long.

clearly it really is a little more common than it seems. almost dissapointed i've never heard of/seen it before!?

That type of accident, albeit with a somewhat shorter ride afterwards, is very common, particularly down here in the SE and is generally caused by a left hand drive truck changing lane and clipping a vehicle in it's blind spot.

this is truly phenomenal. this is beyond comprehension. every story i just read is byond comprehension.

you're right — i actually have no idea what the laws are.

I've never driven a lorry before, but I gather that he didn't really feel it, if he did, then he'd think it's just the road a little bumpy.

Most big modern lorry cabs ride on their own suspension, separated from the movement of the chassis. Some of them are really soft - they sort of float about up there. I can imagine that you might not feel it. Slippery wet roads, too - and there might not have been that much of an impact anyway. It could have happened at very low speed in heavy traffic when the HGV driver was looking off into the distance forward at lights, signs or whatever.
Is there a driver in the car? Horn not working? No-one around them on the road thought to honk or flash lights? No oncoming HGV flashing? -

just spoken to a mate who said it'd happened to his dad and his mates in a car a couple of years ago! travelled about 30 metres hooked to the front before the foreign truck driver realised. clearly crazy and clearly not at all rare. if we can take anything from this video it's that no one was injured otherwise it probably would've been reported.
Not at all. Get to it.
